Meet Dr. Maura Hart

For over 25 years Dr. Hart has been supporting schools, districts, and state departments of education as they develop healthy systems for high quality student and adult learning .


Passionate

Maura leads with integrity, belief in the power of the human spirit, and the certain knowledge that human beings are born to learn and grow so that they can access their innate potential and give this back to make the world a brighter place for everyone to be.


Experienced

Dr. Hart leads individuals and teams to implement and sustain evidence based practices, processes, and systems in schools and districts -she has been doing this for over 25 years.

She supports schools and districts as they implement Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) using Distributed Leadership practices and data informed decision making practices. She uses research validated tools and appropriate data supporting teams to identify current strengths and areas of potential to create relevant, doable action plans.  She supports leaders and Leadership teams to engage in a continuous cycles of improvement. 

Dr. Hart works across the country at the school, district and state level supporting the implementation of Multi Tiered Systems of Support, Social Emotional Learning, Equity Leadership, and Educator Wellbeing as an Assistant Director at the SWIFT Education Center at the University of Kansas. 

Dr. Hart teaches graduate students at Antioch University in a variety of subject areas including Leadership Development, Rightful Presence in the Experiential Classroom, and Building Inclusive Learning Communities. 

She began her career as an English teacher for middle and high school students where she employed Collaborative Problem Based and Social Emotional Learning to create high quality learning communities where all students, including those who are differently abled and/or marginalized, could achieve their potential.

Overall, Dr. Hart coaches leaders in education to understand and leverage their strengths optimizing their ability to engage others to do their best work.

Grounded

Maura lives in New Hampshire on a small farm  (which is really just an expensive petting zoo) with her three teenage daughters (when they are home from college) and husband of 27 years, along with a couple of dogs and a couple of cats. She is a dancer, runner, reader, writer, practices yoga and meditation, loves to hike in the woods with her dogs, and ski (any kind as long as she is gliding on the snow -preferably fast).
